A Luzerne County man threatened to kill President Joe Biden and his cabinet in an online video, then stole a $20 bag of coffee from a local cafe the day before a presidential visit to Scranton, according to court documents.

Jordan D. Gee, 37, was indicted Tuesday by a federal grand jury on charges of threats against the president, officials with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania said.

Jordan D. Gee, 37, Nanticoke, is facing local and federal charges for incidents on April 15.

Gee, of Nanticoke, said he would inflict bodily harm on Biden in the video posted shortly before Biden’s April 16 campaign stop in Scranton. He told Biden to “stay out of his city,” and threatened to cut the president’s head off “in front of everybody,” according to the indictment. He also threatened to kill the mayors of Kingston and Wilkes-Barre in the video, the document states.

In a separate case, Gee was arrested by Nanticoke Police on the morning of April 15, according to a criminal affidavit.

Around 11:30 a.m., Nanticoke police were dispatched for a report of a disorderly male. Officers say he stole a bag of coffee from Grateful Roast Cafe and Coffee Roaster on North Market Street in the city. Gee was taken into custody on Market Street after attempting to push and pull police off of him, the affidavit states.

Gee is facing retail theft and resisting arrest charges related to the incident in Nanticoke. He was unable to make bail and remained in the Luzerne County Prison as of this week, according to federal court documents.

In the federal case Gee is set to be arraigned May 29 at U.S. District Court in Wilkes-Barre. Federal prosecutors are asking that he remain in federal custody until the final disposition of the federal charges, according to court documents.

The incident is being investigated by the United States Secret Service. Assistant United States Attorney Kyle A. Moreno is prosecuting the case.
