Children’s Home of York – Bridges Program, 77 Shoehouse Rd. York, March 26. Pass. The quaternary ammonia concentration in the sanitizing solution of the 3-bay warewash sink was 0 ppm, rather than 150-400 ppm as stated on the manufacturers use directions. Can opener cutting blade a food contact surface, was observed to have food residue and was not clean to sight and touch.

Dover Area Elementary School, 109 E. Canal St. Dover, March 26. Pass. Foil sheets observed stored on the same shelf as laundry detergent. Corrected.

East Lincoln Lanes, 5761 Lincoln Highway, York, Follow-up, March 26. Pass. No violations.

Leib Elementary School, 2925 Oakland Rd. Dover, March 26. Pass. No violations.

New Green Garden II, Inc., 3941 E. Market St. York, March 26. Pass. Time in lieu of temperature being used in the food facility to control ready to eat potentially hazardous foods (fried egg rolls and fried breaded meats) without written procedures or documentation to verify disposition of food. Provided training. Food facility is using chlorine Sanitizer at an extremely high concentration of 400 ppm, not approved in the Code of Federal Regulations for food contact sanitizing at this level. Corrected.

Red Lion VFW Post#1446, 815 S. Main St. Red Lion, March 26. Pass. Observed equipment being placed to air dry inside a sink which is used for produce washing and draining of cans and other food preparation tasks which could be a source of possible contamination of the clean dishes and equipment. Corrected. Facility will place a rack over the sink and place dishes on rack. Refrigerated ready to eat, time/temperature control for safety food – buffalo chicken, mac and cheese, sauces prepared in the food facility and held for more than 24 hours is not being date marked. Corrected. Buffalo chicken, salsa, avocado ranch, lunch meat, and other foods refrigerated, ready to eat time temperature control for safety, was date-marked by the facility, but was beyond the 7 day use or sell by date and requires discarding. Corrected. Facility discarded. Interior ceiling of microwave, a food contact surface, was observed to have food residue and were not clean to sight and touch. Corrected. Ice machine, a food contact surface, was observed to have large amount of black mold like residue and was not clean to sight and touch. Corrected. Observed no chemical sanitizer being used on equipment and utensils after washing and rinsing them, and prior to use. Corrected. Facility drained 3rd bay and filled again with appropriate sanitizer. Observed single-service, single-use cups, aluminum pans, food trays, pan liners and other articles stored in dry storage area directly on the floor, and not 6 inches above the floor.

Rutter’s #48, 5 Winterstown Rd. Red Lion, March 26. Pass. Deviled Egg and chicken wrap held was held at 43.1°F and 41.7°F, in the cold hold unit , rather than 41°F or below as required. Corrected. Facility discarded. Time in lieu of temperature being used as a control for potentially hazardous foods, but pork egg roll, chicken club and swiss pretzel observed being held for more than 4 hours. Corrected, Facility discarded.

Godfrey Bros Inc., 7137 S. Susquehanna Trail, York, March 25. Pass. Prepackaged Salmon portions and filets, crab legs and lobster tail is not labeled properly with the name of product, ingredient statement, net weight, distributed by statement and/or nutritional facts. Corrected.

San Marcos Max & Mexican Store LLC, 14 W. Chestnut St. Hanover, March 25. Pass. Food facility does not have available sanitizer test strips or test kit to determine appropriate sanitizer concentration (PH). Plumbing system not maintained in good repair – observed three basin sink leaking at the faucet. Handsink located in bathroom is leaking at PVC PIPING and is not in good repair. Women’s toilet room is not provided with a covered waste receptacle for sanitary napkins.

The Acai Spot, 8 W. Chestnut St. Hanover, Opening, March 25. Pass. Food facility does not have available sanitizer test strips or test kit to determine appropriate sanitizer concentration (QUAT). Food facility hot water heater is not producing enough hot water to supply all hand sinks at the time of this inspection.
