Observed 3 knives, a food contact surface, stored dirty on magnetic knife holder above 3 bay sink. Corrected on site. Paper towel dispenser empty at the handwash sink. Corrected on site.

Cravings by La Dollyz, 59 N. Market St. Elizabethville, March 14. Pass. Toilet room is not provided with a covered waste receptacle for sanitary napkins. Toilet room does not have a self-closing door.

Espresso Inspired Coffee, 223 E. Market St. Elizabethville, March 14. Fail. Observed 4 quarts of Clover Valley Heavy Whipping Cream with a Sell by Date of Mar 7 and 2 and a partial quarts of Kreider Farms Heavy Whipping Cream with a Sell by Date of Mar 3. Food Facility Person in Charge not able to provide documentation that the eggs are from an approved source. Food Facility receiving shell eggs which are not labeled properly and/or do not contain safe handling instruction. Scoop being stored in the ice machine with handle touching the ice. Deli Meat was observed thawing at room temperature on the kitchen sink, which is not an approved thawing method.

Little Saigon Restaurant, 2800 Paxton St. Harrisburg, March 13. Fail. The Person in Charge did not demonstrate adequate knowledge of food safety in this food facility as evidenced by this non-compliant inspection. The Person in Charge did not demonstrate adequate knowledge of the PA Food Code as evidenced by incorrect responses to food safety questions. Food Employee observed changing tasks that may have contaminated hands without a proper handwash in-between. Food employee observed in kitchen area, wearing bracelet on harms. Food employees observed in kitchen area, not wearing proper hair restraints, such as nets or hats. Various foods stored in the stand-up refrigerators in the kitchen area stored open with no covering. Observed food ingredient storage containers and bottles, through-out the facility, is not labeled with the common name of the food. Observed wet wiping cloths in kitchen area, not being stored in sanitizer solution. Various sauces were not cooled from 135°F to 70°F in 2 hours and/or from 135°F to 41°F within 6 hours, after preparation. Observed food (unknown food) was held at 73°F, rather than 41°F or below as required. Observed no date marking on any commercially processed refrigerated, ready to eat foods throughout the facility. Prepackaged ‘to-go’ food items such as pudding, salads, etc. are not labeled to clearly indicate any “Big 8” allergen ingredients and/or the allergen warning or ingredient/sub-ingredient statements. Thermometers for ensuring proper temperatures of food are not available or readily accessible. Observed deeply scored cutting boards not resurfaced or discarded as required. Observed the following on food contact surfaces: Slicer with food debris on the blade; Containers of food and utensils stored in the kitchen with heavy build-up and are not being cleaned daily. Observed the following, throughout the facility area, with an accumulation of dust, dirt, food residue, debris on non-food contact surfaces: Interior and exterior (especially the handle areas of the units) surfaces of all refrigeration equipment; All gaskets in all cooling and freezing unit; Interior, exterior and all sides of all cook line equipment; Storage/prep tables and all racks; Around all ware-washing area; Exteriors of multiple food containers. Non-food contact surfaces not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of dirt and soil. The handwash sink in the kitchen area was blocked by food utensils and not accessible at all times for employee use. Door screen in the exit door located in the kitchen area of the food facility has a gap and does not protect against the entry of insects, rodents, and other animals.

Observed the following on non-food contact surfaces not clean to sight an touch: Accumulation of static dust on ceiling above cooking/prep area; Accumulation of grease on piping behind cooking equipment.

Bhojan Ghar, 3867 Derry St. Suite A, Harrisburg, March 12. Fail. The Person in Charge did not demonstrate adequate knowledge of the PA Food Code as evidenced by incorrect responses to food safety questions. The Person in Charge did not demonstrate adequate knowledge of food safety in this food facility as evidenced by this non-compliant inspection. Thermometers for ensuring proper temperatures of food are not available or readily accessible. Food facility does not have available sanitizer test strips or test kit to determine appropriate sanitizer concentration (for ammonia chemical). Loose rubber door gaskets observed on the two doors up-right cooling unit. Observed deeply scored cutting boards not resurfaced or discarded as required. The water temperature of the wash compartment of the manual warewashing equipment was 100°F, rather than not less than 120°F, as required. Observed the following on food contact surfaces: Gray plastic silver-ware dividing container with silverware stored inside with too numerous to count mouse-like droppings in and on the stored silver-ware. Not corrected on site. Countless kitchen items (containers, pans…) stored inside with too numerous to count mouse-like droppings located in the shelving in the kitchen area. Exit door located in the back area of the food facility has a gap and does not protect against the entry of insects, rodents, and other animals. Ceiling in the back storage area, has numerous holes and in need of repair. Food facility inspection indicates evidence of rodents activity in rear areas of food facility, but facility does not have a pest control program at the time of inspection. Pest control program recommended. Potential rodent harborage areas inside the food facility observed in the rear area due to rodent droppings (dropping in excess and too numerous to count).

Devon Seafood Grill, 27 W. Chocolate Ave. Hershey, March 12. Pass. Observed dirty knives, a food contact surface, stored on dirty magnetic knife holder above two compartment sink in the back prep area. Corrected on site. Observed food containers in the mechanical dishwashing area, stored wet in a manner that does not allow for draining and/or air drying (wet nesting). Corrected on site.

Freshido Hershey Town Square, 151 W. Chocolate Ave. Hershey, March 12. Pass. Observed numerous raw meat products thawing above ready to eat foods (buckets of sauce) in the walk-in cooler with possibility of cross-contamination. Corrected on site. Observed bins storing rice in the back prep area not labeled with the common name of the food. Observed single service, single use containers without handle stored in bucket of salt and bins storing rice. Observed shredded/deteriorated rubber door gaskets on bain-marie refrigeration unit in the food assembly area.

Jo Jo’s Pizza, 1150 Cocoa Ave. Hershey, March 12. Pass. Observed single service, single use containers without handle stored in flour/sugar bins. Corrected on site. Refrigerated ready to eat, time/temperature control for safety food (sliced cheeses, raw chicken) prepared in the food facility and held for more than 24 hours, located in the walk-in cooler, is not being date marked. Corrected on site. Observed deeply scored cutting board on bain-marie unit in pizza making station not resurfaced or discarded as required. Observed the following on food contact surfaces: Clean knives stored on magnetic knife holder with accumulation of food debris and is in need of cleaning. Corrected on site. Accumulation of pink slime on deflector plate of ice machine and is need of cleaning. Corrected on site. Observed handwash sink in back prep area without available hot water due to loose faucet handle and is in need of repair. Person in charge was in process of repairing.

Hotel Indigo, 765 Eisenhower Blvd. Harrisburg, March 11. Pass. During the inspection, 4 Crowley vanilla yogurts 6oz were found expired (Feb. 25, 2024). Observed some food ingredient storage containers and bottles, through-out the facility, is not labeled with the common name of the food. Observed souffle cup, no handle, stored inside of adobo, crushed black pepper, powder garlic and onion. Thermometers for ensuring proper temperatures of food are not available or readily accessible. The wash solution temperature in the mechanical warewash equipment sanitizing with chemicals was 80°F, rather than not less then 180°F, as required.
