China One, 805 Baltimore St. Hanover, March 1. Pass. Food employees observed in kitchen area, not wearing proper hair restraints, such as nets, hats, or beard covers. Observed stainless steel bowl containers being used as scoops to remove food product (Rice and Dry Ingredients) at the time of inspection (CORRECTED). Observed meat food stored directly on the floor in walk in cooler area, rather than 6 inches off of the floor as required(CORRECTED). Upright can opener located in back prep room on stainless steel table a food contact surface, was observed to have food residue and was not clean to sight and touch (CORRECTED). The food facility does not have the original certificate for the certified food employee posted in public view. Old food residue, dishes and utensils observed in the handwash sink, indicating uses other than handwashing (CORRECTED). During this inspection back door was observed to be propped open. When door was closed screen was observed to be damaged and does not protect against the entry of insects, rodents, and other animals.

Mamma’s Pizza, 450 Fishing Creek Rd. Etters, March 1. Pass. Time in lieu of temperature being used in the food facility to control ready to eat potentially hazardous foods (pizza) without written procedures or documentation to verify disposition of food. Corrected, provided training. Fountain soda machine dispensing nozzles, food contact surfaces, were observed to have food residue and were not clean to sight and touch.

McDonald’s #10195, 56 Robin Hood Dr. Etters, March 1. Pass. Food employee observed in fry station area, wearing rings with stones. Food employees observed in fry station area, not wearing proper hair restraints, such as nets, hats, or beard covers. Time in lieu of temperature being used in the food facility to control ready to eat potentially hazardous foods (cut onions) without written procedures or documentation to verify disposition of food. Corrected, onions were discarded. The bulk milk container dispensing tube extends greater than one inch from the chilled cabinet. Product dispensing area on ice cream machine and fountain soda machine dispensing nozzles food contact surfaces, were observed to have food residue and were not clean to sight and touch. Cleaned and sanitized utensils located in dish machine area, are stored with food contact surfaces/food or lip area exposed to hand contact when retrieved by food employees. Wall in the mop sink area is damaged and in need of repair. Food facility is using chlorine Sanitizer at an extremely high concentration of greater than 200 ppm, not approved in the Code of Federal Regulations for food contact sanitizing at this level. Water added to dilute chemical to proper concentration.

Ski Roundtop, 925 Roundtop Rd. Lewisberry, March 1. Pass. Upstairs kitchen ice machine, a food contact surface, was observed to have mold-like residue and was not clean to sight and touch. Corrected. Observed fryer in the downstairs kitchen area, with encrusted grease and soil accumulation. Observed flex pipe used on the waste water line of the handsink located in the tubing kitchen. Plumbing system not maintained in good repair, observed tubing kitchen handsink leaking at the waste water pipe.

The Hub Corner Cafe, 157 Broadway, Red Lion, March 1. Pass. Broccoli salad, Coleslaw and red beet eggs, a refrigerated, ready to eat time temperature control for safety food in the reach in refrigerator, was date-marked by the facility, but was beyond the 7 day use or sell by date and requires discarding. Corrected. Facility discarded. Food facility does not employ a certified food employee as required. Food facility has an employee who held a Certified Food Manager certificate; however, the certificate has expired and is no longer valid. The certificate has been expired since 2022. Food facility inspection indicates evidence of rodents/insect activity in dry storage area, but facility does not have a pest control program.

Holy Crab Seafood, 429 Baltimore St. Hanover, February 28. Pass. Observed wet wiping cloths in throughout kitchen area, not being stored in sanitizer solution (CORRECTED). Food facility does not have available sanitizer test strips or test kit to determine appropriate sanitizer concentration (PH and QUAT). Non-sewage liquids and rainwater are not being properly drained and disposed according to regulations. Observed large 5 Gallon Yellow Mop bucket to have black standing water and was not properly disposed of (CORRECTED). Observed large 5 Gallon Heavey Duty Trash bag filled with blackish/ brown grease water in located in the mop sink and was not properly disposed of (CORRECTED). Various foods including stuffed peppers and mashed potatoes food, which was cooled, was not reheated to 165°F within two hours, for hot holding. Corrected, foods were heated properly and placed in hot hold. Can opener cutting blade and milk shake machine, food contact surfaces, were observed to have food residue and were not clean to sight and touch. Corrected. Utensils in drawer at the preparation table are in direct contact with the interior drawer surface that is not clean to sight and touch. Corrected. Plumbing system not maintained in good repair, observed three basin sink leaking at the left faucet.

Accomac Inn, 6330 S. River Dr. York, Opening, February 26. Pass. No violations.

Belmont Bean Co., 18 S. Belmont St. York, February 26. Pass. 1 gallon of 1% low fat milk in the back storage refrigerator with a sell by date of 2/12 used as an ingredient in coffee. Discarded. Sanitizer bucket in the coffee making area was below 150-400 ppm as required by manufacture. Corrected. Interior of milk cooler with sliding glass doors top condenser area and fan cover area with accumulation of dust and white food debris (whip cream). Single service plastic utensils stored at the customer self service area are not displayed and a manner to protect from contamination. Corrected.

Burger King #596, 75 Robin Hood Dr. Etters, February 26. Pass. Time in lieu of temperature being used as a control for potentially hazardous foods, but sliced American cheese was labeled to be held for greater than 4 hours. Corrected, cheese was removed from refrigeration at open (6 a.m.) and timed for use until 2 p.m. New label applied to cheese pan with use/discard at 10 a.m. Fountain soda dispensing nozzle, ice cream machine dispensing nozzle/whipping blade and slushy machine dispensing nozzle, food contact surfaces, were observed to have food residue and were not clean to sight and touch. Corrected. The food facility does not have the original certificate for the certified food employee posted in public view.

Charley’s Philly Steaks, 1800 Loucks Rd. Suite 100, York, February 26. Pass. Raw chicken steak stored above RTE (cheese) in the walk-in cooler. Corrected. Observed wet wiping cloths in prep area, not being stored in sanitizer solution. Condenser unit in the walk-in freeze has accumulation of ice and is leaking water , indicating a problem and needs to be repaired. Only one fan is running and that could be causing the unit to be working harder and that is why it is icing up. Fans and fan guards in the walk-in cooler with accumulation of dust and in need of cleaning. Working containers in three-compartment sink area, used for storing degreaser, taken from bulk supplies, were not marked with the common name of the chemical. Corrected. Chemicals (Windex, all purpose cleaner and stainless steal cleaner) stored under cabinet at counter area with lids and cup carriers. Corrected.

Famous Hot Weiner 3, 2179 York Crossing Dr. York, February 26. Pass. Food employees observed in Kitchen area, not wearing proper hair restraints, such as nets, hats. Ice Chute at the self service fountain machine with black-matter accumulation and in need of cleaning. Corrected. Ventilation above stand up cooler and steamer in the back part of the kitchen area is dusty and in need of cleaning.

Some, not all, food ingredient storage bottles, through-out the facility, are not labeled with the common name of the food. Observed accumulation of static dust on the ceiling tiles, ceiling vents, ceiling grids, ansel system over cook area, and ceiling light shields and in need of cleaning. Observed two rear exit doors located in the back area of the food facility have gaps and does not protect against the entry of insects, rodents, and other animals.
