Robotics and Coding | 8am – noon

Your kids will love this robotics and coding camp! Campers will be exposed to a variety of coding concepts and robotics technology through discovery and design challenges! No prior coding experience is necessary. Challenges are designed to build upon existing knowledge and enhance understanding of coding and robotics throughout the week-long camp.

Campers will start with basic coding concepts using the Switcheroo Coding Crew and Bee Bots, then expand their knowledge and skill using Spheros, Cubelets, Ozobots, and littleBits. Various robotics challenges, like exploring the solar system, will introduce campers to some of the leading robotics systems in education.

Lights, Camera, Action: STEM Explorers | 1 – 5pm

Lights, Camera, Action: STEM Explorers camp infuses the exciting world of digital creation with scientific phenomena! Throughout the week, campers will be immersed in the world of digital creation, delving into topics such as content creation, audio engineering, online etiquette, and video editing.

Digital creation topics will be introduced seamlessly as campers engage in scientific inquiry and discovery alongside professional educators and WITF’s original character, Tiara (Tia) Flora! Campers will collaborate with professional creators to make a short-form video (a “short”) by the end of camp.

Flight & Aerodynamics | 8am – noon *SOLD OUT*

This is the only flight and aerodynamics summer camp in the Harrisburg area taught by professional educators! Our sky-high intensive program combines the engineering design process, creative thinking, the arts, and a collaborative environment as campers explore the wonders and physics of flight.

Campers will design experiments to investigate history’s most iconic flying machines, observe abstract physics concepts like energy conservation and buoyancy, and apply their learning in our hands-on flight simulator! Plus, campers will meet experts in the field of flight.

Electrifying Science | 1 – 5pm *SOLD OUT*

Your kids will be fully engaged by this electrical engineering camp! Electrifying Science camp begins with an introduction to the basic concepts of open and closed circuits and progresses in depth and complexity throughout the week as campers engage in hands-on projects.

Campers will create a basic light and switch, develop a circuit to detect a water leak, build a touch lamp that uses a human to complete the circuit (don’t worry – it’s safe!), power arcade games, build an electrical board that launches components into flight, and explore static electricity with our Van de Graaff generator!

Campers will also investigate green energy, including solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal power.
