Wove, an e-commerce jeweler based in Lancaster city, made Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift matching bracelets. Swift wore her bracelet during the most recent Kansas City Chiefs game.

Music megastar Taylor Swift hugged her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, on the field in Baltimore on Sunday, just after the Chiefs clinched their trip to Super Bowl LVIII with a win over the Ravens.

Photos went viral of their embrace, and of the elaborate, friendship bracelet-style diamond chain on Swift’s left wrist.

That bracelet, with diamond lettering “TNT” set in the center, was custom made in the intimate workshop space of Wove, inside a modest brick building at 617 N. Prince Street in Lancaster, less than an hour from Swift’s hometown of Wyomissing in Berks County.

Wove is a small, startup e-commerce jeweler that offers custom engagement rings, bracelets and more. Its workshop sits near Clipper Magazine Stadium, with a small staff and a black labradoodle named Mickey who comes in to visit a few times a week.

The diamond bracelet was a gift from Kelce (TNT is a nod to their first names, Taylor and Travis). The bracelet’s design was part of Wove’s collaboration with professional golfer Michelle Wie West. It’s through that collaboration that Kelce heard about Wove. He ordered the bracelet in mid-November with the design already in mind.

“We’ve been holding on to the secret for as long as we could,” says Bernie Dufrene, sales and operations manager at Wove.

Dufrene and Wove collaborators Abbie Shedleski, computer animated designer, and Liz Beard, head goldsmith, say they had to keep the secret from their Swiftie children. Beard photographed her daughter in the bracelet before shipping it off to Kelce, she says, so that she could later surprise her daughter that it now belonged to Swift.

The bracelet was designed with the significance of Swift fans’ friendship bracelets — they’re often made and traded at her concerts. Swift’s bracelet, which features diamond-lettered beads, cost $6,360, says Dufrene.

“We elevated the friendship bracelet look with diamonds and 14-carat gold,” Dufrene says. “What’s better than that?”

Kelce bought a bracelet from Wove to match Swift’s bracelet. The main difference is that the beads and diamonds are a little larger in Kelce’s bracelet. Dufrene declined to disclose the price for the custom project.

The two bracelets were made in-house at Wove’s North Prince Street location. Shedleski generated a design on her computer, a step necessary to make sure the jewelry is functional, that was later 3-D printed. After, Beard assembled the bracelet and set the diamonds.

While Dufrene says they were excited about the order, at the end of the day, Kelce and Swift are just two people in love.

“As public as they are, they’re two people that are sharing a really wonderful moment,” Dufrene says. “To see them glowing and happy is truly what our company’s about.”

Dufrene had been on the lookout for the bracelet during Swift’s outings at the Kansas City Chiefs’ games. He thought she’d wear it around Christmas, but says that her wearing it during the AFC Championship game was the perfect time.

“I just never would have imagined that moment,” Dufrene says. “I’m super excited for Wove, and I’m super excited for (the couple).”

Since Sunday, Dufrene says, Wove has been flooded with requests for the bracelet from Swift’s fans. The jeweler has also released a gold charm bracelet in the shape of a hand heart, a nod to Swift’s sophomore album “Fearless,” that has yet to be promoted on its social media pages.

Swift was born in West Reading and grew up in Wyomissing. She performed in Lancaster County country music festival Fallfest in 2006. Her Eras tour stopped in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh last year.

Super Bowl LVIII will be played Sunday, February 11, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, as the Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers.
