The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, 866-366-3723, uses a risk-based inspection reporting process for restaurants and other food handlers.
McDonalds #6499, 897 W. Broadway St. Red Lion, Dec. 7. Pass. Food employee observed donning single use gloves without a prior hand wash. Observed mechanical warewashing unit having an buildup of filth all around the top/inside door areas of unit and not cleaned before use, and frequently throughout the day. Observed clean dish racks stored directly on the floor within the warewashing area. Soap (dispenser not operating properly) was not available at the handwash sink in the rear area of food facility.
Subway #23446, 3131b Cape Horn Rd. Red Lion, Dec. 7. Pass. The person in charge did not demonstrate adequate knowledge of the PA Food Code as evidenced by incorrect responses to food safety questions. Food employees observed in prep/front areas, not wearing proper beard covers. Facility does not have written procedures for employees to follow when responding to an event involving vomitus or fecal matter discharge onto surfaces within the facility.
