Ready, Set, Explore Kindergarten!

The transition to kindergarten is a big one and it’s natural that kids who are leaving preschool for kindergarten are excited – and maybe a little nervous, too.

Ready, Set, Explore Kindergarten! provides families with the resources they need to help their child with this big change and gives the soon-to-be kindergartners a day full of fun and memories – including the opportunity to meet Daniel Tiger from Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood!

August 5 • 9am – Noon

WITF Public Media Center

Save Your Spot!

At this free event, your family can meet a kindergarten teacher, climb into and explore a school bus, and get to know neighborhood helpers like police officers.

There will be several STEM learning stations where kids can build with the Cubelets and Squishy Circuits and let their imagination go wild! Will they build a robot? A flashlight? Something entirely new that hasn’t been created yet?

Plus, there will be construction stations where kids can build with Magnatiles, marshmallows and toothpicks.

Don’t forget to practice literacy and math, too! Go fishing for CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words or play a game of sight word bowling, then practice number fluency by playing ten frame train games and dominoes.

Learning stations at Ready, Set, Explore Kindergarten! are designed for soon-to-be kindergartners, but older and younger siblings and family members will have a lot of fun helping them explore and build.
