For many Pennsylvanians, it’s happened before our very eyes without us realizing a new industry was growing – Agritourism or Agritainment.

Think about pick-your-own fruit at orchards, corn mazes, hay rides and wine and beer trails.

Now, there are those who want to experience what’s it like on a real farm and there are farmers willing to accommodate them.

Where does Agritourism fit in in Pennsylvania’s $132 billion agriculture industry in Pennsylvania?

To talk more about it on The Spark Monday was Claudia Schmidt, assistant professor of marketing and local/regional food systems at Penn State University. She is co-leader of Penn State’s Agritourism Program.
