Eliza Scarlet is on the verge of earning life-changing money – again – when she offers to help the heir to an unclaimed fortune. Money that would allow her to put her name above her door, instead of her father’s.
But then the heir goes missing and it becomes a race against time to claim the money. She enlists Moses to find the kidnappers – and finds out he’s working for Nash – and faces off against another competitor, a supposed heir hunter who is also hoping to cash in on the heir’s fortune.
To complicate matters, there’s been a murder that might slow her down. Eliza will need The Duke’s help if she has any hopes of claiming her small fortune, but an unfortunate entanglement in William’s personal life makes working together impossible.
Luckily, she has Ivy by her side to help unravel an even deeper mystery beneath it all.
