President Joe Biden will deliver his second State of the Union address on February 7 at 9pm after House Speaker Kevin McCarthy extended an invitation for him to address a joint session of Congress. It will be Biden’s first address to a narrowly divided Congress after Republicans took control of the U.S. House of Representatives in January.

This State of the Union comes as Biden’s administration pursues areas of common interest with the Republican party while attempting to avoid a potentially debilitating default if the two parties can’t come together to raise the debt ceiling in the coming months.

Following the address, PBS NewsHour will cover the Republican response. Live coverage is expected to continue until 11pm.
