Straight No Chaser, an a cappella group formed 25 years ago at Indiana University and has since sold more than three million records, garnered more than a billion streams, and sold more than 1.5 million concert tickets worldwide, returns to Indiana to tape their newest PBS special, Straight No Chaser: The 25th Anniversary Celebration.
Straight No Chaser: The 25th Anniversary Celebration will premiere on WITF TV Sunday, June 5 at 6:30pm and will repeat Monday, June 6 at 8:00pm, Thursday, June 9 at 1:00pm and Sunday, June 12 at 8:00pm.
Filmed in front of a sold-out crowd at the Murat Theatre at Old National Centre in Indianapolis, the performance features classics like Proud Mary, Lean on Me and Twistin,’ as well as contemporary hits like I’m Yours, Shut Up and Dance and All About That Bass.
In true Straight No Chaser style, the show appeals across generations by mixing old and new – sometimes in the same song, like in their mash-up of Uptown Funk and Thriller.
During the broadcast, viewers will have the opportunity to make a gift to WITF and receive a pair of tickets to see Straight No Chaser LIVE at the Hershey Theatre. Tickets include a pre-show sound check experience. This pledge gift can be made online now at witf.org/givenow.
A collection of interviews, photos, and music videos, featuring local musicians who have stopped by the WITF performance studio to share a little discussion and sound. Produced by WITF’s Joe Ulrich.
