“Changing Planet” Monitors Climate Change Over Time

A seven-year project kicks off as conservationist Dr. M. Sanjayan visits six of our planet’s bellwether biomes to monitor climate change

Conservationist Dr. M. Sanjayan launches Changing Planet, an ambitious seven-year global effort to monitor climate change from locations across the planet.

From the Arctic to the Amazon, vulnerable habitats are changing, revealing surprising animal behaviors as species adapt.

Featuring the latest science and emphasizing local voices, Changing Planet will monitor climate change in six iconic locations – Cambodia, Kenya, Iceland, Brazil, California, and Maldives – every year over the next seven years.

As locations are revisited each Earth Day, and as pressure on the natural world increases, we’ll meet the winners and losers, see the work communities are undertaking to rebalance the planet, and find reasons for hope.
