WITF and Rotary District 7390 open 2022 Teacher Impact Awards nominations

Educators from seven counties will be honored for their exceptional work

WITF and Rotary District 7390 are accepting nominations for the 2022 Teacher Impact Awards, which recognize teachers who have made an extra special impact in the lives of their students and community.

The Teacher Impact Awards were established by the Rotary in 2005 to recognize and celebrate seven K-12 teachers in public and private schools within the Rotary’s district area which includes Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, and York counties.

“Last year’s submissions made it clear that extraordinary teachers will always find a way over or through any obstacle thrown at them,” said Debbie Riek, WITF director of education. “Last year, we recognized dedicated, passionate teachers like School District of Lancaster Visual Arts teacher Lisa Wolf, who organized and assembled 950 take-home art kits so her students could create their work at home. We’re looking forward to honoring seven more teachers who create supportive learning environments, no matter the challenge.”

Any student, caregiver, colleague, or school administrator who knows a teacher whose impact is felt beyond the classroom can complete the nomination form at witf.org/teacherimpactawards now through February 28.

Nomination forms can be downloaded, completed, and emailed to teacherimpactawards@witf.org or mailed to Debbie Riek, Director of Education, WITF, 4801 Lindle Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17111. All nomination forms must be received by midnight February 28, 2022.

A committee of Rotary members and WITF staff will review the nominations and choose one winning teacher from each county. The top teachers will be honored at a special awards ceremony on May 24. WITF will also produce a special television program that features each of the winners that will premiere on WITF TV on June 23.
