  Fred Vigeant is WITF's Director of Programming and Promotions for TV and Radio. Fred manages the schedules for our radio and television platforms. He also analyzes audience research and manages the public affairs program Smart Talk. Previously, Fred was at WRVO in Oswego, NY for 12 years serving in various roles including Program Director and before that Operations Manager. Fred graduated from the State University of New York College at Oswego with a B.A. in Mass Communications and Broadcasting.

Beginning August 16, WITF welcomes On Point back to the schedule.

Host Meghna Chakrabarti leads provocative conversations that help make sense of the world.

Meghna will sound familiar to you. she was one of the co-hosts to Here and Now prior to landing the full-time hosting job. Meghna was the host of Radio Boston, WBUR’s acclaimed local weekday show. She has also been the host of Modern Love: The Podcast, a collaboration of WBUR and The New York Times (2016-2020).

With each episode of On Point, the goal is to learn, be challenged — and have some fun, too. You can join the conversation by reaching them through email and social media.

On Point begins Monday, Aug. 16 at 2pm. You can hear the program Monday to Thursday at 2pm. WITF will continue to broadcast Science Friday at 2pm on Fridays.

The addition of On Point is part of broader changes to WITF’s radio schedule which begin Saturday, Aug. 14. The full list of changes will be released shortly.
