Nazi War Machines: Secrets Uncovered examines the extraordinary military machines produced in Nazi Germany, how they evolved, and why their technically brilliant designs were militarily flawed. The series is presented by historian James Holland (Secrets of the Dead: World War Speed).
The first episode of the series examines the Luftwaffe, and how in just five years the Nazis went from having the finest air force in the world to a totally broken fleet.
The second episode uncovers the truth behind the Panzer tanks; Holland also takes Hitler’s luxury Mercedes out for a spin.
Holland plumbs the depths of the ocean in the third episode, detailing Germany’s feared undersea U-boats, the force that most threatened Britain’s wartime survival.
The fourth and final episode explores just how effective Germany’s guns were in battle, and exposes the secret flaws the Nazis tried to hide.
Watch Nazi War Machines: Secrets Uncovered Thursdays at 10:00pm beginning January 7. This program is not available on-demand.
