(University Park) — Penn State has decided to delay the start of in-person classes and transition to full remote learning for the start of the spring 2021 semester.
Today’s announcement includes all campus locations.
The university says the decision was made following consultation with state health officials and faculty experts,.. and after extensive analysis and scenario planning given worsening virus conditions nationally and across the state indicating predictions of rising hospitalization rates in the coming weeks.
Penn State officials said all classes will be delivered remotely beginning January 19th and continue remotely through February 12th.
Then beginning February 15th, in-person classes will resume across all campuses,.. though officials say the date could change based on health and safety factors, and guidance from the state.
