(University Park)—Despite three second half touchdown passes to Jahan Dotson, the 18th ranked Nittany Lions were defeated by #3 Ohio State 38-25.

Penn State (0-2, 0-2 Big Ten) quarterback Sean Clifford threw for 252 of his 281 passing yards in the second half in the comeback attempt.  Ohio State (2-0, 2-0 Big Ten) quarterback Justin Fields completed 28-of-34 passes for 318 yards and four touchdowns.

For Penn State, it’s their first 0-2 start since 2013.

About 1,000 friends and family members were scattered behind each bench in the 110,000 seat Beaver Stadium for the game which normally would have been played in front of a white-out crowd.

Ohio State struck early, scoring on their first two possessions, and using just three plays to notch their first touchdown and finishing off their next drive in the end zone on just five plays.

The Lions will host Maryland (1-1) next Saturday.
