Regional and statewide reporting will also be integrated into the evening radio broadcast with NPR’s coverage.

Additional Coverage:

October 30 – Washington Week: Election 2020 Special Report – In a special one hour edition of Washington Week, host Robert Costa will take you on the road through Pennsylvania, one of the key swing states that voted for President Trump in 2016. That year, he traveled through Pennsylvania, reporting on voters from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia. His report, just two days before the 2016 election, was prescient, revealing a large swath of Trump signs dotting the industrial part of the state. Now, almost four years later, Robert will talk to some of the same people he encountered to see how they are faring. In the middle of the current pandemic, economic collapse and reckoning over race, what will Pennsylvania’s landscape look like now? Watch Washington Week Friday October 30 at 8:00pm on WITF TV and through the TV livestream.

November 2 – The Voting Power of Latino Youth – The world’s attention is on the 2020 presidential election in the United States. And this year, there is one particular group that may help decide who wins: Latinos, one of the fastest-growing demographic groups in the US.  Nearly every 30 seconds a young Latino turns 18 and becomes eligible to vote. But will they come out to the polls? Host Marco Werman and senior editor Daisy Contreras will look at politicians’ efforts to win the hearts and minds of Latinos over the years and the diverse issues these first-time voters care about. Listen Monday November 2 at 1:00pm on WITF 89.5 & 93.3, through our audio webstream and through your smart speaker by asking it to “Play WITF Radio”.

November 3 & 4 – America Are We Ready? – On WITF 89.5 & 93.3 WNYC’s Brian Lehrer will follow the news and we will have boots on the ground in places that may be noteworthy in the first hours of polls closing on the East Coast. Then on Wednesday, we’ll check in on the results, the challenges, and what Election Day 2020 has shown us about American democracy and where we go from here.  Whether we have definitive results or are facing extended vote-counting and legal challenges, let’s check in with experts and listeners around the country for context and conversation. America Are We Ready broadcasts at 7:00pm November 3 and 8:00pm on November 4 on WITF 89.5 & 93.3, through our audio webstream and through your smart speaker by asking it to “Play WITF Radio”.

November 4 – 6 – NPR Election 2020 Coverage – NPR news will provide on-going reporting on Election 2020 during Morning Edition and All Things Considered and provide a daily one-hour recap November 4 to November 6 at 9:00pm on WITF 89.5 & 93.3, through our audio webstream and through your smart speaker by asking it to “Play WITF Radio”.
