Congratulations to Viseth Meng, the winner of WITF’s 2020 Central PA Spelling Bee! After 19 rounds, Viseth won with the correct spelling of the word “tapetum.”
Viseth is a seventh-grade student at Cedar Crest Middle School in the Cornwall-Lebanon School District. His hobbies include playing tennis, chess and piano. When he grows up, Viseth wants to be a pulmonologist because he “loves the lungs and studying them.”
In order to prepare for WITF’s Central PA Spelling Bee, Viseth says he studied every day with a lot of help from family members.
Congratulations to Viseth, and congratulations to all 34 spellers who competed in the WITF Central PA Spelling Bee! What an accomplishment!
Editor’s note: The 2020 Scripps National Spelling Bee has been canceled due to concerns about the spread of COVID-19.
