(Harrisburg) — Pennsylvanians can soon keep their fishing license in a pocket rather than having to attach it to an outer garment.
The regulation amendment approved this week by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission board adjusts a long-standing rule on license display.
The executive director of the commission said the change will make things more convenient for anglers.
“By allowing people to simply carry their license in a pocket or in their wallet, rather than pinning it to an outer garment, we hope to hear about fewer licenses being lost and the cost associated with replacing them,” said Tim Schaeffer, PFBC Executive Director. “It also provides greater consistency with the Pennsylvania Game Commission’s hunting license display requirement, so it should prevent any further confusion among hunters and anglers.”
The change also aligns fishing display regulations with those of hunting licenses.
The new policy goes into effect once it is published in the Pennsylvania Bulletin.
