(Wellsville) — State police are using DNA and financial records in their investigation into skeletal remains found in a midstate freezer on a vacant property earlier this year.
The York Daily Record reports that investigators sought a warrant for a DNA sample from a 60-year-old woman to help identify remains found in February in York County’s Warrington Township.
The coroner’s office is awaiting DNA results before ruling on the cause and manner of death.
Police said in warrant applications that investigators believe federal payments to the deceased woman were placed in bank accounts long after she died. No charges have been filed in the case.
