  Fred Vigeant is WITF's Director of Programming and Promotions for TV and Radio. Fred manages the schedules for our radio and television platforms. He also analyzes audience research and manages the public affairs program Smart Talk. Previously, Fred was at WRVO in Oswego, NY for 12 years serving in various roles including Program Director and before that Operations Manager. Fred graduated from the State University of New York College at Oswego with a B.A. in Mass Communications and Broadcasting.

Clifford the Big Red Dog returns to WITF and PBS Kids!  The relaunch of Scholastic Entertainment’s multiple Emmy®-winning preschool series will debut December 13.  The series is based on the best-selling Scholastic book series by Norman Bridwell featuring the larger-than-life dog and his best friend Emily Elizabeth.

Although still set on Birdwell Island, Clifford the Big Red Dog will offer fresh and colorful new locations. The rebooted show will also have a strong emphasis on social-emotional skills such as empathy, along with a solid curriculum designed to boost early literacy and encourage imaginative play—teaching as it entertains with Clifford-sized humor.

Inspired by the best-selling Scholastic books of the same name written and illustrated by Norman Bridwell, the first Clifford the Big Red Dog series premiered on PBS KIDS and WITF in 2000. The standout show garnered numerous industry excellence awards, including nine Daytime Emmy nominations, two CINE Golden Eagle Awards and a New York Film Festival Award.

Watch Clifford the Big Red Dog premieres Friday December 13 at 10:0 AM on WITF with a one hour special.  The series continues weekly on Friday at 10:30 AM.  The new episodes will also be available on WITFK, PBS Kids 24/7, on Saturdays and Sundays at 9:00 AM beginning December 14. Classic episodes of Clifford the Big Red Dog  also continue on WITFK weekdays at 9:00 AM. WITFK is available here:
