(Undated) — Prosecutors outside Philadelphia say a former municipal official stole more than $3 million from taxpayers.
Authorities say Lisa Moore used some of the embezzled funds to fund a lavish lifestyle that included trips to Italy and France and shopping sprees for designer clothing and jewelry.
The former manager of Kennett Township in Chester County was charged Tuesday with theft and other offenses.
District Attorney Tom Hogan says the case is “all about greed.”
Moore isn’t commenting, but her attorney says he plans to “fully defense this case.”
Moore worked for the township for more than 20 years.
She was fired after the alleged fraud was discovered.
