Mosquitoes with West Nile Virus found in 6 counties

(HARRISBURG) — Mosquitoes carrying the West Nile virus have been found in six Pennsylvania counties, along with one human case.
According to the state’s West Nile Control Program’s latest report, included among the locations where the mosquitoes were found was Lancaster City. The human case of West Nile virus was discovered in Chester County. Other discoveries were made in Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Philadelphia counties.
The state Department of Environmental Protection has just completed routine surveillance and reporting for 2019.
West Nile virus is a mosquito-borne sickness that may cause encephalitis, a brain irritation. Mild infections can produce fever, headaches, body aches, skin rash and swollen lymph glands.
