Bears drop game 1 to Charlotte

(Charlotte, North Carolina) — The Charlotte Checkers did all of their scoring in the games first 12-minutes,.. and it was plenty to beat the Hershey Bears in the Atlantic Division Finals of the American Hockey League Playoffs.

The Checkers now lead the best-of-seven series 1-0.

Charlotte got goals from four different players in racing to a 4-0 lead just halfway through the first period last night at Bojangles’ Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Bears lone goal by Chris McCarthy came with just over 4-minutres left in the first period.

The second and third periods were scoreless and the 4 to 1 score stood as the final.

Charlotte outshot Hershey in the contest 38-23.

Game 2 of the series is tonight in Charlotte.
