(Bridgeport, CT) — The Bridgeport Sound Tigers scored late in regulation then got the game-winner in double-overtime to steal game 1 of their American Hockey League playoff series with the Hershey Bears.

Chris McCarthy and Jayson Megna scored second period goals for the Bears Friday night at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport.

Despite being outshot in the game by a wide margin, Hershey found itself up 2-1 late in the third period.

But two penalties against the Bears produced a five on three advantage for Bridgeport and the Sound Tigers Steve Bernier tied things up 2-2 with just over two minutes left in the game.

After a scoreless first overtime period, Bridgeports Kieffer Bellows scored his second goal of the night in the second overtime to complete the comeback.

Game 2 of the best-of-five series is tonight in Bridgeport.
