Did you see this SUV Monday? State police want your help in I-81 homicide investigation

(Harrisburg) — Pennsylvania State Police on Wednesday released a photograph of a vehicle that a New Jersey man was in before he was fatally shot.

The vehicle is a 2004 black GMC Yukon.

“It has a very distinct bumper on the back end of it that people will notice,” said State Police Trooper Brent Miller.

Tyrone Shaw, 46, of Roselle Park, New Jersey, was found dead Monday evening on I-81 North at mile marker 75.4 in Dauphin County’s West Hanover Township. Initially, police thought the homicide might have been connected to a road rage incident.

But Miller said police have confirmed that the the homicide and road rage incident were not connected. State police continue to investigate, and anyone with information about the victim or the victim’s vehicle is asked to contact police at 717-671-7500. A cash reward is still available through Crime Stoppers.

Troopers are also looking for any dash cam footage or mobile recording footage of the location. Specifically, police are looking for information between 7 and 7:30 p.m. Officials were able to narrow down the time frame Friday after receiving some public tips and footage.

Miller said police believe Shaw was the driver of the Yukon vehicle, which had tinted windows and a New Jersey license plate.

“So if anybody saw that vehicle on the interstates — it could be Interstate 81. It could be Interstate 83. We are unsure of the direction of travel,” Miller said. “We just know where we discovered the vehicle.”
