Lowe’s announced today that they will be closing 20 stores nationally and 31 stores in Canada by Feb. 1, according to a news release.

The Lowe’s located at 250 South Conestoga Drive in Shippensburg is listed as the only location in Pennsylvania that is set to close.

Most locations are expected to have store closing sales, except for a select few US stores that will be closing immediately.

“While decisions that impact our associates are never easy, the store closures are a necessary step in our strategic reassessment as we focus on building a stronger business,” Marvin R. Ellison, Lowe’s president and CEO said in a news release.

Many associates may have an opportunity to explore other opportunities at a nearby Lowe’s, according to a release.
