Smart Talk 10th anniversary: Climate change
Memorable Smart Talks from the past 10 years.
One of the most discussed topics on Smart Talk and globally over the past 10 years is climate change. In the United States, it’s often still viewed as a political discussion that centers on whether the Earth’s climate is changing and whether man caused it.
There is no such (or at least very little) debate among scientists and researchers who say they have already witnessed signs of a changing climate. In fact, the U.S. is almost alone in not universally admitting the planet is warming and it is having an impact.
This Smart Talk program first aired on May 31, 2012 but the content of the show still holds true today. Renowned climate scientist Dr. Michael Mann of Penn State University and Dr. Donald Brown, who passionately argues that climate change is an ethics issue, appeared on the program.
