Penn State fans rush the field after Penn State defeated Ohio State 24-21 in an NCAA college football game in State College, Pa., Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016.
(University Park) — It’s one of the most anticipated games on Penn State’s schedule every year. The Ohio State Buckeyes.
It meets all the criteria of the game of the week in college football.
Both teams are undefeated. Both are ranked in the Top 10.
It’ll be played in prime time, under the lights in front of a frenzied home crowd dressed in white and packing Beaver Stadium.
Both teams feature explosive offenses,.. but the Nittany Lions haven’t seen anything like Ohio State this season.
Coach James Franklin says his defense will have it’s hands full with quarterback Dwayne Haskins and an array of weapons surrounding him.
“The way he is able to throw for such a high percentage, such a high touchdown to interception ratio,.. and again the type of talent he’s surrounded with is impressive. Wide receiver, number 14, K.J. Hill can change the game at any moment. Paris Campbell can change the game at any moment. And then obviously they’ve got two of the better backs in the country in J.K. Dobbins and Mike Weber,” Franklin said
Penn State quarterback Trace McSorley is second in the Big Ten, only to the Buckeyes Haskins, in points responsible for and passing touchdowns.
The last two meetings between the two teams have been thrillers.
The Lions won at Beaver Stadium 24-21 in 2016. The Buckeyes won last year 39-38 in Columbus.
Kickoff tonight is at 7:30.
