(Harrisburg) — An inmate has died at the State Correctional Institution at Camp Hill, Cumberland County.

Prison Superintendent Laurel Harry reported Brendan Alan Weaver, 28, was found hanging from a top bunk early Wednesday morning while an officer was patrolling.

Officials said in a statement staff performed CPR on Weaver until Lower Allen EMS arrived on scene and assumed care.

The official cause of death will be determined by the county coroner. State police are investigating as a matter of policy.

Weaver had been at the prison since June 14th. He was serving a one-and-a-half to four-year sentence for burglary.
