State task force on Alzheimer’s created
(Harrisburg) — The State Department of Aging has announced the creation of Pennsylvania’s Alzheimer’s State Plan Task Force.
Secretary of Aging Teresa Osborne says the 15 member task force will help implement the goals and recommendations of Pennsylvania’s State Plan for Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders.
“The 15 folks that are going to comprise the task force will also be working with others who have committed to serving on committee’s,.. and they’ll be gathering more as the work of the task force moves forward so that we are really gathering what’s going on in local communities in order to share best practices and support the goals and the overall success of the state plan,” she said.
Osborne says the task force will seek to help the estimated 400,000 Pennsylvanians suffering from Alzheimer’s or a related disorder as well as their families who often bear a heavy burden in caring for them.
