(Undated) — Several students and one parent involved in separate incidents in which threats were made against school districts in York County will be charged, according to police.

Two Dover High School students overheard talking about what they would do if they were school shooters have been charged with terroristic threats, Northern York County Regional Police police said in a news release issued Friday afternoon.

In another case, a parent at Dover Elementary School allegedly made threats to burn down the school during an argument with staff, police said. That parent was arrested and charged with making terroristic threats.

Police provided the following information on the other incidents they investigated:

  • Feb. 19 and 20, police received seven reports in regard to children receiving Snapchat messages related to the Central York School District threats.
  • Feb. 20, police received several calls regarding an alleged threat on social media related to Dover Area School District. Police tracked the threat to the source and have determined that no threat exists.
  • Feb. 21, police received information regarding a specific threat against a single student at Dover Area High School. Investigators tracked the source of the threat, spoke to the source of the threat, and charges are being filed for terroristic threats. Police didn’t say whether the person charged is an adult or a student.
  • Feb. 22, police received information about a social media post made by a Spring Grove Middle School student in September 2017. Investigators located the male, determined no current threat exists, and he is being charged with terroristic threats.
  • On Feb. 22, a student at Spring Grove Area High School reported overhearing what he believed to be threats during lunch. Police investigated and found that the student most likely misinterpreted students talking about the recent shootings and what needs to be done to stop them.
  • On Feb. 23, a Spring Grove Area High School student who was suspended was found on school property. He was charged with trespass.

Northern York County Regional Police Department said it continues to investigate all threats that are reported. But police said people should “refrain from sharing unsubstantiated rumors and innuendo on social media and instead call 911 to report your concerns.”
