Dover girls’ basketball coach back to work in York schools and at Spooky Nook Sports

(Undated) — Kevin Glover is back at work at Goodrich Academy and Spooky Nook Sports after the York County Office of Children, Youth, and Families said all cases against him “have been unfounded,” according to a Spooky Nook news release.
He returned as a behavior specialist at Goodrich Academy on Wednesday, according to York City School District acting spokeswoman Kate Harmon.
According to the release from Spooky Nook Sports, the all-sports complex in Manheim, Lancaster County, was told Tuesday by the Office of Children, Youth, and Families that “investigations into accusations against Kevin are closed and Kevin is able to return to work.”
Tanya Almoney, assistant administrator of York County Office of Children, Youth and Families, cited Child Protective Services Law as the reason she could not confirm or deny that Glover is or had been under investigation.
His status as the Dover girls’ basketball coach is unclear.
Dover athletic director Rich Leathery referred all questions about Glover’s status with the basketball program to Supt. Tracy Krum. A message left at her office was not returned.
Kyle King, spokesman for the York County District Attorney’s Office, said an investigation remains open at this time. He would not comment further.
Northern York County Regional Police Chief Mark Bentzel confirmed that the investigation remains active.
Spooky Nook was clear in its official statement that Glover is being welcomed back with open arms.
“[Kevin] was suspended from work with loss of pay, investigated for months, cited in numerous news stories, and unable to attend his son’s basketball games and parent/teacher conferences for his children at their school, and all cases regarding Kevin have been unfounded,” the statement reads. “There is no answer for how to rebuild one’s reputation after going through this process.
“We enthusiastically, and without hesitation, welcome Kevin back to his leadership role at the Nook. We are sorry for the pain that this process has caused Kevin and his family.”
Glover was placed on a leave of absence as head girls’ basketball coach at Dover high in December, days after junior varsity coach Aignee Freeland was suspended for alleged improper contact with a player.
That leave of absence touched off a firestorm that led to Glover being suspended as technical director of basketball at Spooky Nook Sports and a Goodrich Academy counselor with Catapult Learning, which contracts with York City School District.
Parents, Dover players and players from other schools spoke passionately to the school board on Jan. 18 in support of the varsity coach.
On Jan. 10, police arrested Freeland, charging her with institutional sexual assault and one count of unlawful contact with a minor. She posted bail and waived her preliminary hearing. She is due to be arraigned on March 2.
Glover was never charged by police, although a search warrant was served for his phone on Jan. 18. At question was if he knew about Freeland’s alleged contact with the 16-year-old player before it was reported, according to the warrant.
