State Senate Democrats again try to change PA’s minimum wage
(Harrisburg) — Democrats in the state Senate have unveiled their latest attempt to raise the minimum wage in Pennsylvania.
The legislation would increase the state’s minimum wage of 7 dollars and 25 cents incrementally, according to state Senator Christine Tartaglione.
“These bills will help the lowest paid Pennsylvania workers by raising the minimum wage to 12-dollars effective immediately, raising the minimum wage to 12-50 in 2019 and by 50-cents each year until 2024, when the minimum wage will be at 15-dollars an hour,” she said.
Pennsylvania has not raised its minimum since 2006 according to Senator Tartaglione, and the federal minimum hasn’t increased since 2009.
