(Glen Rock, Pa) — A portion of I-83 in southern York County was closed in both directions for most of the day Saturday due to an accident involving an overturned tanker truck.

Officials say the accident occured near the Glen Rock exit of I-83 and the highway was shutdown between the Loganville and Shrewsbury exits.

The accident resulted in the spill of liquid oxygen and officials say a haz-mat team was called in to help with clean-up.

Officials say the truck driver suffered only minor injuries.

The accident happened shortly after 6am and the highway wasn’t fully reopened until after 6pm last night.
