(Harrisburg) — The state legislature may be away for the week, but that hasn’t kept the Capitol free of controversy.

Lieutenant Governor Mike Stack is currently under investigation for mistreating his staff and security detail.

Stack–a former Democratic Senator from Philadelphia County–has a staff at his disposal that includes a security detail and six employees who maintain his state-provided residence.

A report first detailed by LNP said the state Inspector General’s office is looking into allegations that Stack and his wife verbally abused those employees, among other claims.

It reportedly came at the request of Governor Tom Wolf

The Inspector General’s office said it can’t confirm or deny the investigation. But a spokesman for Stack did say his office is “in receipt of a letter from the Inspector General regarding staffing issues.”

He added, “we have no further details on the investigation and have no further comment at this time.”

Per Pennsylvania norms, Stack ran for his elected position separately from Wolf.

The governor’s office declined to comment.
