Trooper Landon Weaver to be laid to rest today

(Altoona) — Funeral services are scheduled for later today for a state trooper who was killed in the line of duty last week.
23-year-old Trooper Landon Weaver will be laid to rest in Martinsburg, following services at the Blair County Convention Center in Altoona.
Weaver was fatally shot last Friday while responding to a reported violation of a protection-from-abuse order in Juniata Township, Huntingdon County.
His accused killer, 32-year-old James Robison, was shot and killed during a manhunt by police a day later. He had a lengthy criminal history.
Hundreds of people are paying their respects.
Visitation for Weaver was held yesterday at a convention center in Altoona.

Mourners walked past dozens of photos that showed Weaver as a child, playing sports, vacationing and getting married.
He is the 97th state trooper killed in the line of duty, and the first since September 2014. He was originally from East Freedom, Blair County and joined the state police in December 2015.
The trooper had recently married his high school sweetheart.
His family has requested privacy, so the funeral services will be closed to the press.
Law enforcement personnel from around the country are expected to attend.
