(Harrisburg) — A midstate school district and its teachers union say they’ve reached a tentative deal on a new contract.
The West Shore Education Association says the agreement covers six years.
Teachers in the West Shore district had been working without a new contract for nearly 800 days, and recently voted to authorize a strike.
The district’s school board and union both still need to approve the deal.
The board’s president says the deal is a good one for all parties, and the union’s president calls the contract a fair compromise.
