(State College) — Occasional showers are forecast for your morning tailgate and at least the first half of the Penn State football game today at Beaver Stadium.

Penn State officials say cooler, damp conditions, damage to the fields from last week’s home game and a forecast for more wet weather has forced them to close the Brown lot, the Family Friendly lot and Yellow Lot 12.

Brown parking permits will be honored in the Orange lot and Blue lot.  Please plan to arrive from the East to access the Orange lot or from Route 26 to access the Blue lot.

Yellow pass holders who have parked in Lot 12, should plan to park in the yellow lots on the east side of the stadium.

ADA parking is not affected.

As for the game, its Homecoming and the undefeated, (4-0), Maryland Terrapins are in town to face the 3-2 Nittany Lions.

The injury depleted Lions defense will no doubt have their work cut out for them as Maryland comes into the contest as one of the top rushing teams in the country, averaging nearly 300 yards per game.

Five different Terrapins will likely participate in the run-fest, including duel-threat quarterback Perry Hills.

Penn State, coming off a thrilling win last week over Minnesota, will be looking to get off to a faster start and avoiding the need for huge second half comebacks.

Head Coach James Franklin says he was focused this week on getting the team to start fast and set an early tone of consistency that begins with the opening drive.

The last two games between these two teams have been decided by just one point and the so-called experts have this one down to pretty much a pick ’em game.

Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
