Rain, rain is here to stay (for a couple of days)

(Harrisburg) — Forecasts call for a couple of rainy days ahead.

And while the rain has been steady, it’s not expected to completely erase the dry conditions that developed over the past few months.

The region is short of the usual rainfall total at this point, and while today and tomorrow will help, National Weather Service meteorologist Greg DeVoir says it probably won’t be enough.

“Periods of showers, doesn’t look like a lot of heavy rain from here on out. It’s going to stay soggy, damp into Saturday, for a lot of areas,” he says.

For those looking for a brighter day?

“Widespread sunshine? You’re going to have to wait until maybe Sunday or Monday. We’re just going to keep this deep easterly flow off of the Atlantic for the next several days,” adds DeVoir.

DeVoir says the most intense periods of rain have already passed.

So with this brisk, rainy weekend ahead, what is DeVoir going to be doing?

“Ah, my go to activity. Weather of course. Love to watch the weather.”

Here’s to board games, books and maybe binging on Netflix.
