Teen wanted in shooting at York football game

Police are seeking help in locating suspect Stephon Damieen Brown.
(York) — York City Police have obtained an arrest warrant for a 15-year-old in connection with the shooting outside of the William Penn High School football game Friday night.
Stephon Damieen Brown of Reading is being charged as an adult with aggravated assault in the shooting at Small Athletic Field, police said in a news release. He faces other charges including firearms not to be carried without a license.
He’s also facing more than 1,500 counts of recklessly endangering another person. That stems from reports that some of the shots fired went in the direction of the crowd at the football game, said Lt. Troy Bankert, commander of the city’s detective bureau.

Brown is a suspect in several other shootings in York, Bankert said, declining to provide details.
“We think that he’s an indiscriminate shooter,” he said, adding that Brown is still believed to have a gun and to be in the York area.
Two men were shot outside Small Athletic Field in York during the fourth quarter of William Penn High School’s game against J.P. McCaskey High School in Lancaster. One was shot in the back, the other in the midsection.
Those attending the game were kept inside the stadium until officials determined the scene was safe.
Video footage captured the shooting, Bankert confirmed, and assisted in the probable cause to obtain Brown’s arrest warrant. He said Tuesday that he would not release the footage.
The night of the shooting, school officials said they would be working with York City Police to share footage from cameras on light posts in the parking lot outside of Small field.
In the wake of the shootings, school officials are considering changes, including moving home football games from Friday nights to noon Saturdays.
It remains unclear what led to the shooting, but Bankert said there was a dispute.
The shooting victims, Darius Allen, 23, of York, and Antwan Jackson, 20, from the York area, are in stable condition, Bankert said. They both identified Brown as the shooter out of a photo lineup.
Brown, who is the only person police have a warrant for, is considered armed and dangerous.
