John Fetterman speaks to the media after an event in Harrisburg.

(Undated) — A former rival of Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Katie McGinty says he will do whatever he can to help her get elected this fall in her race against Republican incumbent Pat Toomey

John Fetterman turned heads in his bid for U.S. Senate this year as the towering, tattooed mayor of struggling Braddock in western Pennsylvania.

Like presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders, Fetterman made income inequality a big part of his campaign.

Now he’s joining with Katie McGinty to call for Wall Street reforms that will benefit Main Street.

Fetterman says he will also work to counter the rhetoric of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, who is trying to appeal to working class voters in the western part of the state

“You know, this idea that he can come in and say, ‘Oh, we’re going to bring back steel,’” Fetterman said, “It’s just not, it’s not something that Donald Trump has ever spent an actual minute thinking about or caring.”

Fetterman had more harsh words for Toomey, who he and McGinty paint as a Wall Street crony.
