Three killed in Franklin County shooting

(Undated) — Two people were found shot to death in a barn at a property in Franklin County late Saturday, and a third person found on the property died from gunshot wounds at a midstate hospital.

According to State Police, Chambersburg, troopers responded at about 11:30 p.m.  to the property after receiving a call for shots fired in the area.

They did not provide a specific address or block of Welsh Run Road in the report.

Troopers arrived on the scene to discover Wendy Chaney, 39, Hagerstown, Md., and a 47-year-old man – identification pending notification of next of kin – deceased from gunshot wounds inside a barn.

Phillip Jackson of Greencastle was found severely injured from a gunshot wound and was flown to York Hospital for treatment, but he later succumbed to his injuries.

Jackson lives on Welsh Run Road, but state police did not give an address.

The suspect and his or her motive is unknown at this time.
