Ted Cruz turns attention to Pennsylvania

(Philadelphia) —   Republican Presidential candidate Ted Cruz is slated to campaign in Hershey later this morning.

He’ll be at the Antique Automobile Club of American Museum at 10:00 a.m.

Last night, the Texas U.S. senator spoke at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia as he awaited returns from New York’s presidential primary.

Former Republican candidate Carly Fiorina introduced Cruz as an outsider ready to take charge.

“People will say that he’s made a lot of enemies but I personally am encouraged that he has made a lot of enemies- because that what it takes to fight the system,” she said.

When he addressed the 100 or so people gathered, Cruz invoked Ronald Reagan, Jack Kennedy and Steve Jobs, and said the GOP is united, despite a bruising primary season.

“As Republicans, we agree on a lot. And sure, areas of lesser agreement exist as well” he said. “But on the fundamental question are we satisfied with the current direction of our country? We speak with one voice.”

He also focused taking the country in a populist direction.

“One that isn’t lead by me, or anyone in Washington. But by you, and millions others just like you,” he said. “One where we still have differences, yet we choose to concentrate on what we have in common.”

Most polls have shown Cruz is pacing behind Trump and Kasich ahead of next Tuesday’s Pennsylvania primary.
