Perry proposes bill to stop Obama’s executive action on guns

(Harrisburg) — A midstate congressman has introduced a bill to stop President Obama from changing gun regulations through executive action.

Republican Scott Perry, who represents Adams County and portions of York, Dauphin and Cumberland counties, says the problem isn’t a lack of gun laws, it’s what he says is a lack of enforcement.

Perry cites Justice Department data showing fewer weapons convictions in fiscal year 2015 compared to the previous year.

Obama said he plans to issue executive orders to close what’s known as the gun show loophole for background checks and better track lost or stolen guns.
