Smart Talk: PA job growth finally normal; Carlisle Sentinel cuts Sunday
What to look for on Smart Talk Friday, September 4, 2015:
It has been a long time — seven years to be precise — but Pennsylvania’s job growth is finally back to normal. That’s according to the Keystone Research Center’s The State of Working Pennsylvania 2015 report, which was released just a few days before Labor Day.
However, the report warns the recovery is precarious and cited the two-month-old state budget stalemate between the Wolf Administration and legislative Republicans. It said without money from the state, schools and social service agencies will have to dip into reserves and may have to furlough workers, which could lead to less consumer spending.

Also, the Carlisle Sentinel announced last week that it would be cutting its Sunday newspaper. Instead, one weekend edition would be published each week on Saturdays.
It’s the latest change in a shifting landscape in the newspaper industry in recent years.
