Parade for Red Land Little League planned

(Lewisberry) — More celebration is being planned to honor the Red Land, York County Little League team and their tremendous run of success at the Little League World Series in Williamsport.

The Newberry Township Police Department is heading up an effort to hold a parade for the team on Saturday, September 5th.  The celebration will continue in the local Darrenkamps parking lot.

The department says in order to make the event happen, they are asking for monetary and supply donations.

Donations can be made starting Monday, August 31st at Members 1st Federal Credit Union under the account name “Why Not Us.”

The police department says more details on the event will be made available soon.

A police escort for the team as they arrive home is already planned for tonight through New Cumberland and Lewisberry before ending at Red Land High School.
