(Harrisburg) — PennDOT has unveiled a new web site to help keep motorists aware of new and ongoing highway construction.

Projects.penndot.gov shows work already underway or slated to begin this year, as well as those in the planning stages as part of the agency’s 4 and 12-year plans. PennDOT Spokesperson Erin Waters-Trasatt says the transportation funding law known as Act 89 is helping them move forward with long-delayed projects in the state.

“It was desperately needed and we have hundreds more projects going on that would not have been possible without Act 89.   You can see the impact on the construction page as well as the Act 89 page itself,” she said.

The website and mapping tools are also compatible with mobile devices. Officials also welcome feedback about the new site, with motorists encouraged to contact their local PennDOT office.
